Team RDR continues it's winning streak

After 2 weeks of rainouts, everyone was happy to get back to business at the track, and a great crowd was there to enjoy the great weather and awesome racing done by all divisions. Of course, the fact that the SK Mods were doing a 150 lapper helped with drawing a larger crowd than usual. Be that as it may, it was a great night for our team as the 29 car was perfect all night, we didn't make a single adjustment, the boys had an easy night and just watched Rob do his thing, and did he ever.
He started his qualifying heat dead last, drove to the front and won that, started the race in 10th, took the lead around lap 6 and never looked back. I may sound biased when i brag about my son, but i'm certainly not alone when it comes to his driving ability. I don't know how he manages to get through the traffic like he does, he just seems to have a sense to put the car in the right place at the right time, avoiding wrecks and bring the car home clean every week. It does wonders for team moral when the stress level is low and we can just go out there and have fun.
So with 2 consecutive wins, we have next week to prepare for a double feature, we'll be making up a race that had been rained out, so we have 2 chances to win, although we all know full well that we have to avoid trouble in the 1st race, to have a chance in the 2nd one. But i don't think we'll do anything any different than we normally do, we just go out there and try to win races and have fun doing it, with a little luck and the good Lord with us, we should do just fine.
And as always, i can't praise the crew enough for everything that they do, (although they haven't had to do much lately), haha.  You guys/gals are the best crew that anyone could want,  God Bless you all and God Bless America.

Nascar's punishment or just a slap on the wrist?

Anyone who is a racing fan, and happened to watch the Nationwide race last Saturday night, saw the wreck between Carl Edwards and Brad Keselowski. We all know that there has been a rivalry between these two since they first raced each other. Each of them have been the aggressor and i don't favor either of them, it's just good racing to see competitors bump each other around until it gets out of hand, which most of us feel is what happened this time.
I have to give Edwards credit for at least being honest by admitting that he wrecked Keselowski on purpose, and i commend Keselowski for keeping his cool, (at least to the media) and not whining about it like some drivers do.
As for Edwards penalty, i applaud Nascar for at least doing something, (i suspect mostly due to public pressure), but i think that 60 driver points and 60 owner points and $25,000 fine is merely chicken feed, they should be happy that i don't make those decisions...enough said about that.

As for Team RDR, it seems that we have gotten back into our rythem, the car has been running great, Rob has been doing a great job behind the wheel and the car has been coming home clean every week.
In our last 5 races, we've finished 4th, 3rd twice, 2nd and last week was our 1st win of the season.
Last weeks win also comes on the heels of both of our main sponsors pulling out on us, just the week prior, so it's an in your face kind of deal to them. So until we find a main sponsor, we will just do the best we can, and try to finish out the season.
Finally, as usual, i have to thank the crew for all the hard work and dedication that they show, each and every week..and the fans who come out and cheer us on..without the fans, there would be no reason for us to show up.
        God Bless America

Not the season we hoped for...So Far

We've had our share of bad luck so far, in the first seven races we've blown a transmission one week, and blew the motor in the following week.
We've had 3 podium finishes (2nd or 3rd place), one of which was taken away from us because of a minor rules infraction, in which we were stripped of any points for the race, which i still don't understand to this day. Normally they will give you last place points for something like that. But it's all political anyway, they own the track and they can do whatever they want, if you don't kiss enough ass, you get it stuck up yours, it's as simple as that.

Anyway we've been struggling with the handling of the car, some changes that we made were obviously the wrong ones, but now i think we've figured out what we need to do, hopefully we'll show it next weekend.
We have new sponsors on the car, which is something we haven't had in the last few years, so we have to do the best we can to finish well for them.
The good thing is, there are alot  of races left for us to redeem ourselves somewhat, a few podium finishes (preferably wins) will do wonders for team moral, not to mention points and prize money.
I don't know if we have a chance to win a championship, our goal is to just try and win as many races as we can, for our few loyal fans, our sponsors and ourselves.
My highest praise for our race team, that works their butts off every week, and to our fans that cheer us on every week..without them there would be no incentive to go out there in the first place.

The 29 gets a new Body

Well it's been a long winter, and it seems that not much seems to get done until the snow melts and the first taste of spring arrives. And then...it's chaos..No matter what the circumstances are, it's always that way. There are always things that don't get done until the last minute. It's no different this year, except that we actually have some sponsor money for a change, which is very much needed and appreciated.
There are only 3 weeks left until open practice, and then the Spring Sizzler weekend, April 23 - 25.
Without spoiling the surprise too much, i will say that the 29 will have a new color scheme for 2010, that's all i'll say about that for now. As for the 17 car, unfortunately there just isn't enough money to run it for the whole season, but we hope to get it out there a few times, if all goes well.
The main focus right now is the finishing touches to the 29's new body, re-assemble everything and make adjustments as needed.. If everything goes right..we'll make the open practice in 3 weeks..if everything doesn't go right..we won't...either way..we'll be there at the Sizzler.

Health Care Reform?

No matter what you call it, it stinks. This huge ENTITLEMENT, when they pass it, (which they will) by any means necessary, will give the Govt. even more power over our lives. It will change this Country  for a very long time, maybe forever.
It's not about health care at all, it's about power. This bill controls much of education and will take over student loan programs. The Govt. now runs the banking system, auto makers, the postal service, medicare and the census, to name a few.
The President has totally ignored our concerns, with his belief that "Health Care" is a "Right", Well i'm sorry Mr. President, but you are Wrong.."Health Care" is a "good".. or  something that you consume.
Rights are not given to us by the Govt., they are given to us by GOD..It says so in the Constitution.
Mr. Obama says that he will take $500. billion from medicare and the rest from new taxes to pay for this  $780.+ billion "Bill", and in the next sentence, says that Medicare will be stronger and more "solvent" because of it.   I would like to know how that could happen,  unless you are double counting your chickens.
Regardless of what underhanded and unethical means they use to pass this thing, I hope people remember that no one really knows what's going to happen, we have a bunch of  "kooks" running the govt. that are hell bent on ruining this Country as we know it..they are totally against Capitalism and are all for big govt.
These are Progressives that want "Social Justice" and total control of everything we do. They are willing to commit political suicide to further their agenda.
It will be interesting to see what happens in the next few days, it's down to the wire for Obamacare, Oh and speakling of that..Tomorrow, 3-17-10..The President will do an interview with Brett Baier from Fox News. Imagine that...A few months ago he said that Fox News wasn't a real news organization. Oh well i guess everyone has a right to change his mind..even the President

A Lazy Saturday Morning

With so much going on lately, from devastating earthquakes to huge political events, i thought i'd post something to remind us, (or at least myself) what a great Country we live in.
The photographer did a great job of catching the jets at just the exact moment, not to mention the exact position that the pilots had to maintain at whatever speed they were flying at.
Maybe i'm just an old sentimentalist, but it makes me feel all warm and fuzzy, LOL...enjoy :)
